Crazy Rhomdo Plus Kit

$25.00

This kit includes all the parts you need to build a Crazy Rhomdo Plus from a MF8 Doderhombus.

This kit includes 6 (six) 0-face trapezoidal centers, 6 (six) 1-face trapezoidal centers, and 6 (six) trapezoidal caps. I am also including a complete set of stickers for both faces of the puzzle in 12 colors. You can mix and match the center types to create your own unique puzzle, similar to the planet puzzles.

Want to build one yourself? Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 x Crazy Doderhombus Plus, made by MF8. (Not included in kit)

  • 6 x Trapezoid Centers (I have designed both 0-face and 1-face versions of those, so you can print 6 of each and mix-and-match)

  • 6 x Trapezoid Center Caps

    Assembly instructions:
    1. Disassemble the Doderhombus completely. Go until you are holding the white plastic core.
    2. Unscrew the screw that goes through the middle of the core. Don't lose the nut!
    3. Pull off either the upper or lower third of the core and rotate it until the pins and holes line up in a different way than they did before. Sorry I don't have pictures of this. You'll understand it when you see it.
    4. Screw the core screw back into place.
    5. Assemble 6 of the rhombic centers onto the core, with 6 of the original spherical modular core pieces, attaching the centers to the 6 screw holes that are not on the equator of the puzzle.
    6. On the equator of the puzzle, assemble the 6 trapezoidal modular core pieces remaining 6 modular core pieces. They kinda snap into place.
    7. Screw a Trapezoid Center into each remaining hole in the core, being careful to orient them correctly (especially if they are 0-face centers!)
    8. Start assembling the exterior pieces, beginning with three of the Rhombic faces.
    9. When you reach a point where you need a piece with two colors that don't currently appear together on any existing piece, start harvesting the colors you need from pieces that do exist but aren't on the puzzle yet. This will work for everything except the last few 4-fold corners.
    10. When you finish assembling, you'll need to swap around a few stickers on the 4-fold corners.
    11. Assemble and sticker the trapezoidal center caps.
